Hotel Le Mondon Metz

Absolutely overhyped place! The keychain weighs more than my luggage. Breakfast was a sad joke, just a few pastries in my room. I expected a room upgrade or at least an apology for the inconvenience. Almost positive until all the little things added up. Oh, and mold is a lovely touch, right?

The hotel was conveniently situated, the staff were friendly and helpful. We were advised that a large group would be in the breakfast from at 8.00 and we should go earlier or later. We were asked if the noise form the group had bothered us (It had not)

There was no hot water. Although the staff said this was a very recent problem, it seemed like this had been going on for some time. No hot water means no hot showers (or even warm showers).

Breakfast staff were unprofessional and inattentive.

Location adjacent to all tourist attractions and the railway station, which in itself is worth a visit.

The reasons I'm conflicted

The location is fantastic, just a short walk to the city center! Plus, the breakfast selection was quite excellent, with numerous options available!

Unfortunately, my Comfort Double Room had issues. The air conditioning was not effective.

Carpet in common areas felt worn and not well-maintained. Rooms were uncomfortably cold at times. It took notable effort to arrange for extra blankets. Breakfast room cramped during peak times. Arriving late meant limited food options. Daily room service lacked attention to detail, often leaving beds unmade and dirty cups behind.

The hotel is located very close to the station and a few minutes walk to the city center.

The hotel was very old and also it was not properly clearned. The hotel room smelled weired and the floor and the wall need to be repaired.

Breakfast with different natural juices and fresh pastry, as example. All in all particularly good and excellent setting close enough to the fountain, the square and the center of Metz. Also, close to the city centre.

The breakfast was a good spread, offering fresh pastries and a cozy vibe. The location is a stone's throw from local culinary gems like Kristal Palace for fine dining and Fox Coffee Shop for hearty brews.

There was a significant wait for the key at check-in since the young man seemed a bit lost, and the view from our room was far from stellar. Still, the overall experience had its shine.

Good location.

Some staff members speak only in French. The hotel is booked twice the money on the card, and refused to cancel a re-lock, citing problems with the bank. Due to problems at their cause, not even apologized. As a result, had to pay in cash, with the fee required to stay. Lift starts from the second floor and you will have with their suitcases up the stairs. Room is satisfactory, but the water is barely warm.
